Samsung G600 5.0-Megapixel Camera Phone Unveiled

Samsung today announced the Samsung SGH-G600, the first GSM 5.0-megapixel camera phone for European market. Housed in a fashionable black two-toned slider shell, the G600 is the latest member of Samsung's range of handsets and is made to capture quality pictures of priceless moments.

Consumers can use various modes such as panoramic or mosaic settings and enjoy built-in Power LED flash, image stabiliser and image enhancer. For a better viewing experience, the G600 incorporates a 2.2-inch LCD with 16 million colors and full Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, enabling people to view larger pictures and graphics and helping users read text or Web pages in full.

The Samsung G600 is also equipped with a host of multimedia features designed for those on the go. Music lovers will enjoy the embedded MP3 player, which can be customized to individual tastes and preferences. With improved internet browsing, users will benefit from NetFront Browser v.3.4, which provides PC-like browser capabilities on the phone.

Samsung has pushed camera phone technology with the launch of series of industry's first camera phones including the 5.0-megapixel camera phone (SCH-S250) in 2004, 7.0-megapixel camera phone (SCH-V770) in 2005, and finally 10.0-megapixel camera phone (SCH-B600) in 2006 for Korean domestic market.

Blackberry 8820 Cellular/ Wifi Device Unveiled

The first BlackBerry to combine EDGE/GPRS/GSM cellular and Wi-Fi connectivity for data access and voice support through UMA (unlicensed mobile access). Featuring RIM's thinnest smartphone design with a full QWERTY keyboard, large and bright display (320 x 240 px), trackball navigation system, the BlackBerry 8820 also includes built-in GPS (Global Positioning System), RIM's latest media player enhancements, and a microSD / microSDHC (microSD High Capacity) expandable memory slot that can support microSD memory cards up to 32 GB.

Supporting 802.11 a/b/g Wi-Fi standards, BlackBerry 8820 users can access data through public hotspots and wireless home networks. The smartphone works with both BlackBerry Enterprise Server and BlackBerry Internet Service and can switch between cellular networks and a Wi-Fi network to allow users to access email, Instant Messaging, organizer, web browsing and other mobile data applications.

The BlackBerry 8820 is compliant with Wi-Fi security protocols including WEP (Wireless Equivalency Protocol), WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access) and WPA2, as well as Cisco Compatible Extensions for simple, secure connectivity with Cisco wireless solutions. For enterprises that require Wi-Fi users to access the corporate network through a VPN (Virtual Private Network), the BlackBerry 8820 includes IPSec-based software that supports the most commonly deployed VPN gateways from vendors including Cisco, Check Point and others.

Samsung SGH-L760 Launched for Mobile Bloggers

Samsung today introduced the SGH-L760, a new 3G mobile phone that offers essential features to aid users in maintaining their blogs. The L760 allows users to update content and photos to their blogs anywhere with just one-click, by uploading contents as in the form of title + description + tag.

The L760 is a sexy UMTS 3G slider equipped with the most of popular mobile features including a 2.0-Megapixel Camera, Really Simple Syndication (RSS) Reader, FM Radio with Radio Data System (RDS), the latest music features and much more to entertain mobile users.

Motorola Deluxe

The Motorola Deluxe (ic902) is the newest phone utilizing the Nextel National Network (iDEN) for walkie-talkie services and the Sprint Nationwide Network (CDMA) for voice and data services. The Deluxe utilizes both of Sprint's networks depending upon the service being used. For walkie-talkie services, the handset will operate on the Nextel National Network (iDEN) giving customers the ability to instantly connect with more than 20 million Nextel Walkie-Talkie users coast to coast. The Deluxe (ic902) also supports Direct Talk for short-range off-network walkie-talkie conversations between users with other Direct Talk-capable Nextel phones.

The Deluxe (ic902) also features Bluetooth Stereo capabilities for pairing with compatible headsets and other devices as well as an integrated MP3 player with the ability to enjoy MP3s, audio files and audio podcasts. Multimedia files are easily stored on the included 128 MB microSD removable memory card. The Deluxe (ic902) supports SMS text messaging and is GPS-enabled for navigation, including support for TeleNav.

Samsung i620, the i600 successor ?

Thin, yes, but you won't hear many folks call Samsung's SGH-i600 (the BlackJack in these parts) a beautiful phone. With Windows Mobile 5 Smartphone and HSDPA, it's very functional -- but the praise stops there.

It looks like Samsung's poised to change that all-work-and-no-play image with the i600's alleged successor, though. Pictured above is a phone said to be the SGH-i620, a slider sporting just a 94 x 59mm outline when closed. Despite the tiny dimensions, the i620 maintains its smartphone status and actually one-ups the i600 by coming preinstalled with Windows Mobile 6 Standard.

Other specs are up in the air -- Samsung hasn't officially announced this one yet -- but it seems that GSM 850 is nowhere to be found, so unless AT&T wants to have another go at it, we may not be able to use this one over here. The BlackJack has been a strong seller

Sony Ericsson W960i

Apple iPhone - Another Breakthrough ?

The Apple iPhone combines three products - a mobile phone, a widescreen iPod with touch controls, and an Internet communication device with email, web browsing, searching and maps - into one small and lightweight handheld. Doubles as a widescreen iPod with touch controls to enjoy content - including music, audiobooks, videos, TV shows, and movies - on a 3.5-inch widescreen display.
