Sony Ericsson today revealed the W890i Walkman phone, a slim, stylish device with 2GB music storage capacity and integrated 3.2-megapixel camera.
The W890i Walkman phone promises to hit the right notes with music lovers and design connoisseurs alike. Its color matched stereo headset and in-built stereo speakers deliver a high-quality listening experience. The W890i incorporates the Walkman Player 3.0, the latest in Walkman technology, which offers one-click access to the player and simple, intuitive navigation around the music.
Not only can users organize tracks by artist, album, or visually using Album Art (the album's front cover artwork) - with the W890i, they can even select music to match the mood. The SensMe music experience automatically plots the music by tempo and mood - letting listeners create a playlist that matches how they feel.
The W890i Walkman phone offers the benefit of an expandable memory, which can be upgraded as the music collection grows. A 2GB Memory Stick Micro (M2) is provided in-box - that equates to storage for up to 1800 songs. If users tire of these, they can tune into their favorite station using the W890i's FM Radio.
The W890i also has HSDPA capabilities to download music at speeds up to four times faster than with regular 3G devices. The phone is fully compatible with Sony Ericsson's PlayNow mobile entertainment experience, providing instant access to the latest content such as full-length music tracks, the mobile games, ringtones or wallpapers.
The W890i's comes with a built-in 3.2-megapixel camera with one-press access so users never miss a shot. Instantly upload photos to a personal online gallery, or 'blogsite,' to let friends see.
The W890i Walkman phone is a HSDPA/UMTS 2100 and GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 phone and will be available in selected markets from Q1 2008.

Pantech Duo Dual-Keyboard HSDPA Device Released
Boasting an innovative dual-sliding, double-keyboard design, the Duo addresses the lifestyle needs of both business customers and consumers. The UMTS/HSDPA-enabled Duo is one of the first devices from AT&T to be powered by the Windows Mobile 6 operating system.
Using the Pantech Duo, customers can enjoy a mobile broadband experience in more than 200 major metropolitan areas across the U.S., featuring average download speeds of 600 Kbps to 1.4 Mbps. Outside the U.S., Customers can access email and other data applications and browse the Web in more than 135 countries, and they can make or receive phone calls in more than 190 countries.
The drop-down QWERTY keyboard is useful for writing email and editing Microsoft Word and Excel documents; the numeric keypad is ideal for sending quick texts and dialing on the run. A flip of the wrist brings users into contact with either keyboard and any mobile need. The lean design houses both keypads and a large color screen that measures only 4.02 inches tall, 1.97 inches wide and 0.83 inches thick.
Dynamic AT&T Mobile Music and CV services let customers manage a variety of multimedia libraries, download and play stereo-quality music, watch popular TV shows and view exclusive content from HBO, MTV, and ESPN, among others, on the handset's 240 x 320 px screen. Also onboard are convenient and widely used features, such as Internet Explorer Mobile, Windows Media Player 10 Mobile and Stereo Bluetooth.
The operating backbone of the Pantech Duo is Windows Mobile 6, which provides users with the familiar look and feel of their desktop computers at home or in the office. Included in the Duo is Office Mobile, so people can view PowerPoint presentations, as well as view and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents. Windows Mobile 6 also delivers the ability to view email messages in their original rich HTML format with live links to Web sites and Microsoft Office SharePoint sites, which means that text and images are displayed as they would be on a Windows PC.
The Duo and all Windows Mobile 6 devices include Microsoft's Direct Push Technology for up-to-date email delivery and automatic synchronization of Outlook calendars, tasks and contacts through Microsoft Exchange Server. The Duo also will support System Center Mobile Device Manager, the comprehensive, enterprise-grade mobile management security and access server at around the time Mobile Device Manager is available in the second quarter of 2008. The product was announced last week by Microsoft at CTIA Wireless I.T. and Entertainment 2007.
In addition to having the ability to take the office on the road, the Pantech Duo provides consumers with methods to stay connected by offering a choice of personal email and messaging options. These include the AT&T Xpress Mail push email service, which supports most popular POP3/IMAP personal email services; instant messaging capabilities; and the ability to send and receive multimedia messages with color videos and photos. Taking productivity one step further, the Duo leverages the unique capabilities of UMTS/HSDPA technology from AT&T, which allows for the simultaneous transmission of voice and data services so that users can make voice calls while sending email or browsing the Web.
Shadow Unveiled
T-Mobile today announces the upcoming availability of the T-Mobile Shadow - the first phone in a franchise of simple phones designed to reduce the complexity associated with many feature-rich devices.

AT&T today announced the availability later this year of the BlackJack II, a sleek and simple device powered by Windows Mobile 6. The BlackJack II is available in slick black and red wine color options, and features a full QWERTY keyboard, large 2.4-inch QVGA color display screen and front jog wheel to elevate productivity and improve the mobile experience.
Following in the footsteps of the popular BlackJack, the BlackJack II boasts an enhanced feature set, which includes:
- AT&T Video Share, the first service in the U.S. that enables users to share live video over the wireless phones while on a voice call
- Built-in GPS, Support for location-based applications such as TeleNav GPS Navigator

Available for BlackJack II in 2008, System Center Mobile Device Manager 2008 offers companies an end-to-end solution for managing and securing Windows Mobile devices. Employees will also have access to company information and a line of business applications from a single, secure place behind the firewall by using a cutting-edge Mobile Virtual Private Network (VPN).
Beyond the workday, the BlackJack II allows users to kick back, relax and enjoy a full complement of entertainment capabilities. There's access to AT&T Mobile Music - an integrated, on-the-go music experience that delivers music by providing simple access to robust collection of music content available today, including XM Radio Mobile, which comes preloaded on the device and is available for $8.99 a month. The BlackJack II also features AT&T's CV streaming video service.
