Video: Samsung Alias2 E-Ink Samsung Voodoo says Ozzy Posted: 23 May 2009 04:00 AM PDT Ozzy Osbourne is no stranger to promoting Samsung mobile phones, and the latest from Sammy and Ozzy is a video of the Samsung Alias2 and E-Ink technology. In the video, Ozzy is seen cowering away from the Samsung Alias2 when shown the E-Ink function and calls it black magic, and some kind of Samsung Voodoo. The video is only 51 seconds long, but you do get a clear view of the Alias2 and E-Ink technology in action, along with Ozzy's bodyguard zapping a Samsung tech with a tazer which is kind of funny in a cruel way. You can view the video below so hit it up and enjoy. |
Sony Ericsson wants Android Donut rather than Cupcake Posted: 23 May 2009 03:30 AM PDT Sony Ericsson is looking for a slice of the Android platform action, and they have a sweet tooth as Cupcake isn't sweet enough so they want a Donut according to digitimes. Apparently Sony Ericsson is looking to add Android 2.0 devices to their future line-up and the inclusion of Google Android 2.0 OS is in addition to continuing with Windows Mobile and Symbian handsets. According to Sony Ericsson VP of Marketing, Peter Ang, the reason for bypassing Android 1.5 Cupcake is Android 2.0 Donut will "will provide more multimedia support" than Android 1.5 Cupcake. |
iPhone in Russia non seller Russian operators liable to fines Posted: 23 May 2009 03:00 AM PDT It appears the Apple iPhone isn't doing too well in Russia, which is causing a problem for Russian mobile operators as to get the iPhone 3G in Russia, the mobile operators originally signed contracts with Apple which committed them to selling millions of iPhones over the next 2 years. The problem for them is that as the iPhone hasn't sold well they are now facing hundreds of millions of fine from Apple states unwired view. Apparently in the first 6 months from launch only 127 iPhone 3G handsets were sold and if this rate continues the total sold over the next 18 months will amount to around 550,000 leaving a figure of between 2 and 2.5 million iPhones unsold when payment comes due. |
Apple Sued for Trademark Infringement by Cartier Posted: 23 May 2009 02:30 AM PDT It appears that the Apple lawyers will be busy again as French luxury watch maker Cartier has filed a lawsuit in a federal court in Manhattan against Apple for infringement of trademarks reports macworld, who got their information via AP. The lawsuit claims that Apple iPhone applications such as Digitopolis' Fake Watch and Fake Watch Gold Edition uses Cartier's trademarks without their permission, and is suing Apple for allowing said apps in the iTunes App Store. Both iPhone apps have now been pulled from the iTunes App Store, and it is unclear at the moment what compensation Cartier is seeking |
AT&T iPhone 3G stock running out resorts to refurbished handsets Posted: 23 May 2009 01:50 AM PDT The word from appleinsider is that Apple iPhone 3G carrier AT&T is running out of the popular smartphone. New reports show that AT&T iPhone 3G stock is dwindling, and if fact low enough so they need to resort to offering refurbished iPhone 3G units. One could presume that strategically AT&T could well be clearing out stock of the iPhone 3G in preparation for the new iPhone as we approach WWDC on June the 8th. It has also been reported that iPhone distributor for Australia, Brightpoint has only a few weeks inventory left, while the 16GB iPhone has already been discontinued. However, AT&T denies any shortage of iPhone 3G handsets. |
